Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How can I find out the status of my Grant Application?
    To check the status of a grant application, please go to View My Grant Applications on this web site and follow the simple registration instructions. You will then be able to see a listing of your grants with status.

  2. How long will it take before a decision is reached?
    It may take up to five weeks, perhaps longer for more complex requests, for a decision to be rendered on your grant application.

  3. I am experiencing difficulty with the Budget Schedule as several fields are protected.
    You cannot key directly into the Total column, as this is a protected field. You need to complete the unit price and quantity columns, then the total column will be automatically populated by the system.

  4. What is a Needs Assessment?
    A Needs Assessment is conducted to identify gaps in the knowledge of targeted healthcare professionals. Needs assessments help determine the educational objectives and program topics. A complete needs assessment typically contains findings as well as methodology. There are many methods used to prepare a Needs Assessment which may include the following: an educational gap analysis survey of the target audience; previous program evaluations where attendees list topics of future interest; results of focus group discussion; expert opinion from national or regional Key Opinion Leaders; literature searches; or, target audience testing.

  5. What do you mean by Conflict of Interest resolution policy?
    The ACCME Standards for Commercial Support require that all identified conflict of interest is resolved. Just disclosure of the conflict is not sufficient for resolution. This applies to everyone involved in the educational program including speakers and planning committee members.

  6. Can I use my own budget form with your application?
    The MEGO Budget Schedule must be used when applying for a Grant.

  7. Do you accept applications for charitable contributions?
    No.

  8. Do you accept applications for research grants?
    No.

  9. What is the time requirement for submission of grant applications?
    Grants must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the program date to allow for appropriate review of your grant request. We cannot guarantee that grant applications submitted after this cut-off period will be reviewed.

  10. Do I have to complete the request in one on-line session?
    No. You can save your application at any point throughout your application process.

  11. How do I return to an incomplete application that I saved, but have not yet submitted?
    To return to a saved grant application on the web site, refer to the following instructions:
    1. Click on the View My Grant Applications link.
    2. Log In using the Username and Password you selected when you created your    account.
    3. You will see a list of all the grants you have submitted.
    4. Click on edit to return to the grant and make the necessary changes.

    Please note that once a grant has been submitted, you will not be able to edit it.

  12. When will I be contacted about the status of my Grant Request?
    After you submit your application, you will receive  confirmation informing you that the request has been received. Once the grant goes into review, you may be contacted to provide additional supporting documentation. After the review is completed, you will receive a letter confirming whether or not the grant will be funded.

  13. When do you accept grant requests?
    We accept applications throughout the year. It is always best to get your grant submitted as early as possible and definitely within 45 days of the start date of the program.

  14. Do you make grants to individuals?
    No, we do not provide grants to individuals.

  15. If our grant is approved, may we use Abraxis and AstraZeneca logos to list the organizations as sponsors for our program?
    Yes. Please send an e-mail to abraxisastrazenecagrants@astrazeneca.com to request the proper logos, which will be e-mailed to you along with usage guidelines.
