The AstraZeneca Medical Education Grants Office (MEGO) is responsible for the approval and processing of independent medical education grant requests. The following brochure provides additional information regarding our independent medical education grants process.

Completed applications must be submitted at least 45 business days prior to the anticipated date of the proposed educational activity. Each application is given careful consideration as part of a rigorous evaluation by our Medical Education Review Team. Accordingly, it may take up to five weeks, perhaps longer for more complex requests, for you to receive a decision regarding your application.

RAPID Line

In recognition of the value of your time required to complete an application for funding, we are pleased to offer the MEGO RAPID (Rapid Assessment of Potential Interest & Direction) Line. The RAPID Line will enable you to obtain a quick read on whether your proposed grant request is consistent with our areas of educational interest and available budget. Heres how it works:

1. Call 877-294-7268 and select the RAPID option. A member of the MEGO staff will ask you to provide the following information.
1. Your Name
2. Organization Name and Type
3. Program Topic
4. Program Date
5. Amount Requested
2. You will be given immediate feedback if possible; otherwise, you will receive a return phone call within 48 hours. The RAPID feedback will be one of two options:
1. Your program would not receive funding at this time. We do not recommend submission of a grant application.
2. Your program is consistent with our current areas of educational interest. We are currently accepting applications for that area of interest. However, because we have limited funds and a high volume of grant requests competing for these funds, we cannot guarantee that there will be funds available when your application is reviewed.

Please note that a RAPID decision will have no bearing on whether or not your grant request will be funded. Your grant application will be evaluated in accordance with all established guidelines and policies.
